Everyone here at The Choctaw Grand Theater is so excited to welcome Maxwell to the stage for his Serenades of Summer 2025 Tour, featuring support from Marsha Ambrosius, Kem, Leela James and Lucky Daye at various dates across the North American and European tour. With twenty three dates across the country, the tour will take Maxwell to places like Kansas City, The Toyota Summer Concert Series in Del Mar California, Madrid Spain, and of course - right here at the Choctaw in Durant. For this generational artist taking on the world with one soul song at a time, you know this will be a show you can’t miss. 

Born in Brooklyn, New York and of Haitian descent, Maxwell has been on the scene since the early 90s and set himself on a mission to change the genres of R&B and Progressive Soul to fit the world we were heading into. He did that successfully and with flying colors - releasing five studio albums over his career (so far), and collaborating with the greats up and down the board - including folks like Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill, D’Angelo, and Erykah Badu - to name a few. He has successfully changed the game to fit the world he wanted to create, and we have been able to witness his greatness for over an entire generation of musical harmony. He has been on the top of The Billboards charts multiple times, won three GRAMMY awards, performed and won gold at the Soul Train Music Awards, and is even a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. He is one of the many faces on R&B’s Mount Rushmore - and we can’t wait to have him here for a once in a lifetime showcase. 

We can never be too sure what Maxwell will whip out when he hits the stage these days - I mean, his discography is so deep, it’s insane to even think he is still teasing new music from time to time. But on his Fall tour last year where he hit locations all across the country - some of his top songs did make an appearance in the set list, including Pretty Wings, Fortunate, Get To Know Ya’, and Simply Beautiful. We’re positive Maxwell will bring all the hits and the energy - all you gotta do is be there! We can’t wait to see you on June 21st!
